History

On December 7, 1941 Japan bombed Pearl Harbor with a surpise attack. This unfortunate event drove the United States to enter World War II and begin the War in the Pacific. Countless islands were invaded by both sides in the attempt to get closer to one another. The idea of island hopping moved the United States to the islands of Iwo Jima and Okinawa where they socked up supplies for the invasion.
Through the Manhattan Project two atomic bombs were made, "Little Boy" and "Fat Man". The United States warned Japan to surrender, but they refused. The united States made the decision to drop the first atomic bomb nicknamed "Little Boy" on Hiroshima, a military base. " "Little Boy" killed about 70,00 - 80,000 and inujured about 70,000 others. Later a second atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki. "Fat Man" kiled about 45,000-75,000 people. This resulted in the surrender of Japan.
